When you desire to review your shot or the histogram, hold the Hoodloupe onto your digital camera’s LCD screen then bring your eye to the eye piece for complete glare free viewing. The HoodLoupe has a +-3 diopter to accommodate those with less than perfect vision. HoodLoupe adjusts focus just like a binocular eye piece – you turn the eye piece in or out to set for your vision. Minimal magnification is used to eliminate visual pixilation of your image. Each HoodLoupe is encased in rubber for comfort and protection. My review of this product:
I have been using this product for 2 years and love it. The first time I used it was during a photo shoot of a group of 20 people on a set of steps at the Tulsa Rose Garden. I had 4 rows of 5 people and some nice side lighting. I put the Hoodman HoodLoupe around my neck – took a test shot – examined my first image immediately for exposure and depth of field – adjusted my aperture – then continued to shoot. I felt like l was viewing in my studio instead of in bright sunlight. I always carry my Hoodman HoodLoupe in my camera bag and have now upgraded from the original 2.7 to their newest 3.0 for use with my 3” LCD screen.
